Job Description

THE PURPOSE:

As the Graphic Designer, Apparel you are responsible for creating original artwork for apparel graphics, embellishment & trim. You will partner with cross-functional coordination to execute art on a speed-to-market calendar.

THE ROLE

  • Ideate and create relevant apparel and graphic artwork for the True Religion brand target consumer.
  • Execute graphics and artwork from conception to final product with full ownership.
  • Partner with Apparel Designers to develop and execute cohesive seasonal deliverables.
  • Create repeat patterns and prints.
  • Create final production art pages with knowledge of artwork techniques.
  • Create layouts for rhinestones, studs, beadwork, etc.
  • Create detailed technical CADS and print-ready artwork.
  • Assess and troubleshoot prototypes, make comments on all artwork strike-off,s and clearly communicate comments to cross-functional partners and vendors.
  • Collaborate with production teams on execution and timing.
  • Research retail market trends and translate them into saleable graphics.
  • Execute design briefs as needed.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of staff and/or freelance experience in the apparel industry.
  • 2+ years of experience in apparel graphic design.
  • Must have experience working for a global brand.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to present solutions to cross-functional partners.
  • Strong capability to sell-in ideas cross-functionally.
  • Proficient in color separation and technical details.
  • Strong illustration skills and typography.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and also to be a team player.
  • Flexible working in the office or remotely, as needed.
  • Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously within a fast-paced work environment.

PREFFERED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design
