Job Description

Luther Lanard is a growing franchise law firm with an open position for a Litigation Attorney. The ideal candidate will be someone looking for an opportunity to take ownership of matters and take cases to trial. At least 5 years of litigation experience, including experience speaking with clients, drafting pleadings, mediating matters, and first or second chairing trials or arbitration hearings, required. Knowledge of franchise law is not required as the firm will provide training.

We are looking for an attorney who can work a target 1700-hour year (which includes up to 100 non-billable hours) with a clear pathway for continued growth (both in compensation and role). Attorneys also receive origination credit. We offer remote work on Friday’s but otherwise the position is in-person. 

$140,000 - $175,000 yearly

• Independently handle matters from start to finish
• Identify claims and help clients navigate their options
• Draft pleadings and motions
• Handle mediations, trials and arbitration hearings
• Effectively confer with franchisors and opposing counsel
• Set and manage client expectations

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Licensed and in good standing with CA State Bar
• History of being deadline-driven and organized
• Display excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Utilize independent problem-solving skills
