Job Description

Commercial Lender:

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and relationship-driven Commercial Lender to join their dynamic financial institution. This individual will play a key role in developing client relationships, managing a commercial loan portfolio, and delivering tailored financial solutions that support business growth. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and client-focused, with strong credit acumen and a commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a high-quality portfolio of commercial loans, ensuring strong credit performance and client satisfaction.
  • Identify, pursue, and cultivate new business banking relationships within the community.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis, including cash flow, collateral, creditworthiness, and risk assessment.
  • Structure and recommend loan terms that comply with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare credit packages and present loan requests to internal loan committees.
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients to understand evolving needs and propose appropriate financial solutions.
  • Collaborate with credit, underwriting, and treasury teams to ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Monitor loan performance, manage risk, and oversee timely renewals within the portfolio.
  • Represent the institution at community events and networking functions to enhance visibility and support business development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field (preferred).
  • 1–3+ years of experience in commercial lending, business banking, or a related financial role.
  • Strong credit analysis and financial modeling skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow and maintain client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations, loan structures, and risk management principles.
  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and in a collaborative environment.
