An opportunity to reimagine educational thought leadership. An Educational Designer is our version of a teacher. Our Ed. Designer role is well-rounded and quite different in that our school brings common sense back to education, innovative thinking, and not cookie-cutting learners. We are preparing kids for the future with skills and learning, and we also have a ton of fun at Vandermont- it is a joyful place to be! Vandermont, located in Royse City, TX ( just five minutes east of Rockwall), seeks to add the nation’s most coachable educators to its K-12 team in Primary and Secondary Studios. Our dedicated team of passionate educators is at the forefront of a movement to revolutionize how we teach and learn. We are committed to providing personalized, innovative, and faith-based education that empowers our students to excel academically while preparing them to lead purposeful lives. Moving beyond instruction, our educational designers will work closely with students and colleagues to build incredible learning experiences anchored in Design Thinking and support individualized pathways to competency demonstration. We are still looking for the following in the most valuable candidates as our enrollment grows and we seek to add  two  additional designers to our campus:

• Ready to reimagine pedagogy
• Confident to learn alongside students as they co-create learning experiences in partnership
• Self-Starter and Coachable
• Resource creator and curator for student experiences
• Design partner with students, not instructional leader
• Willingness to unlearn and engage with Vandermont's methods
• Eager to abandon subject expertise for deeper, more holistic educational endeavors across content areas * Desire to live in an empathetic culture of critique and constructive feedback
• Love for iterations
• Professional curiosity for life and learning
• Experience in Primary and Secondary spaces
• Maker Space or Maker Education Experience is a plus

As an Educational Designer, responsibilities will revolve around designing experiences for transdisciplinary discovery. Working alongside a team of fellow Educational Designers, there will be a team emphasis on care, collaboration, exploration, and design. The most qualified candidates will embrace the unknown and thrive in spontaneous and dynamic experiences, but they will be thoughtful and grounded in supporting students in navigating new pathways in learning for competency demonstration.
