The role:

The Equipment Specifications Engineer creates, verifies, and maintains the specification for all Christie Lites owned gear. This role is called upon daily by Purchasing, Repair, and our Customers to answer specification questions about every aspect of our product line. From the CRI of a moving light to the viscosity of chain oil or the strength of a truss bolt, the Equipment Specification Engineer is the single point of truth for what our rental equipment, parts and tools’ key attributes are.

The successful candidate will use their intuition and experience, manufacturer information and hands-on testing to ensure specifications are both accurate and suitable.

Responsibilities:

  • Owns Christie Lites equipment specifications for equipment, parts, and tools.
  • Approves the design and specification of rental equipment.
  • Verifies specifications and suitability of newly purchased products and validates substitutes.
  • Provides a single source of truth for equipment suitability and design.
  • Manages and updates equipment specifications for internal and external publication.

Essential Attributes: (Required of every successful candidate)

  • At least 5 years’ hands-on experience in the entertainment lighting industry.
  • Deep understanding and proven experience with current entertainment lighting equipment.
  • Relentless focus on technical detail.
  • At home in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment.
  • Great communication skills over phone, email, MS Teams, and in person.
  • Comfortable with MS Office applications and Windows.
  • Based out of our Central Distribution warehouse in Orlando, FL. With occasional national and international travel.

Desirable Attributes: (Great to have, but not required)

  • Technical or engineering degree.
  • Familiarity with the National Electrical Code, specifically as it pertains to live entertainment.
  • AutoCAD experience.
  • Experience with Christie Lites rental inventory
