Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Landman to join our team, supporting land management operations in the Midland and Delaware Basins. The successful candidate will excel in title research, lease and purchase negotiations, and ownership analysis, delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a deep understanding of mineral and leasehold title complexities, proficiency in modern lease language, and the ability to meet deadlines while managing travel demands.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Prepare detailed runsheets and ownership reports to document title history and ownership.
  • Analyze and interpret complex mineral and leasehold titles to ensure accuracy.
  • Generate formatted ownership reports, calculating Mineral Interest (MI), Working Interest (WI), Net Revenue Interest (NRI) and Net Royalty Acres (NRA) with precision.
  • Identify and address title defects to facilitate clear ownership and transactions.
  • Negotiate oil and gas leases as well as mineral purchase offers with sophisticated mineral owners, leveraging strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrate expertise in modern lease language as a proficient lease analyst.
  • Travel as required to conduct fieldwork, attend meetings, or engage with stakeholders.

Job Qualifications:  

  • Education:  Bachelor’s degree preferred (Energy Management, Land Management, Energy Commerce, or related field), though not required with sufficient experience.
  • Experience:  Minimum of 5 years as a Landman, with preference for Permian Basin expertise.
  • BLM Experience:  Required; familiarity with Bureau of Land Management processes and regulations.
  • Location:  Must reside within a 50-mile radius of Fort Worth, Texas.

Skills:  

  • Proficient in navigating and utilizing relevant online resources for title research and lease management.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for reporting and stakeholder engagement.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, calculations), Word, Adobe Acrobat, and Enverus.
  • Strong ability to manage personnel resources and collaborate effectively with teams.
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines and fulfilling obligations under pressure.
