Job Description

Are you detail-oriented, passionate about supporting others, and skilled in business administration? Join our team at Affordable Health Insurance Agency as an Insurance Contracting Specialist! We’re seeking an experienced professional to support agents and management within our Contracts team at our Southeast San Antonio office. This critical back-office role combines customer service, data management, and multi-department collaboration in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Respond to questions and resolve issues over the phone, email, and in person, providing excellent support to insurance agents.
  • Process and monitor agent and agency requests for contracting, licensing, credentialing, compensation, commission changes, and appointments.
  • Track and notify agents of expiring insurance licenses and errors & omissions reports.
  • Maintain, update, and scrub internal databases (CRM) to ensure accurate profiles and contracting information.
  • Manage and organize confidential files, always maintaining data security.
  • Collaborate with the commission's team on schedules and updates.
  • Cross-train and work with other departments to support our company's mission.
  • Prepare summary and data reports; assist with special administrative projects as needed.
  • Ensure high standards in record-keeping and office organization.

What We’re Looking For :

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of college and/or experience in the same field.
  • Office experience.
  • Experience in life and health insurance is a plus.
  • 2 years of experience in insurance contracting, provider relations, business development, or provider office role preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to type at least 52 words per minute.
  • Outstanding phone, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a fast-changing setting.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and strong problem-solving ability.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
