Job Description

An exceptional law firm in Downtown LA is seeking a Litigation Secretary. This role involves essential responsibilities such as e-filing in state and federal courts, managing new case setups, filing documents into iManage, and meticulously handling high email volumes. Key duties include keeping attorneys on schedule, setting up court calls, proofreading, editing, and formatting legal documents. The firm seeks candidates with 3-5+ years of civil litigation defense experience, proficiency in e-filing (both state and federal), and a proactive attitude.

Overview of Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Will support 4 attorneys
  • E-filing with state and federal courts
  • Tracking and calendaring deadlines
  • Drafting basic legal documents and correspondence
  • Efficient in scheduling and calendaring
  • Minimum 3 - 5+ years of experience as a litigation secretary in California
  • Familiarity with insurance defense and/or public entity defense practices preferred
  • Experience supporting 3-4 attorneys in a fast-paced environment
