Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented Microsoft Power Apps Developer with strong Power BI expertise to join our team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain custom business applications using the Microsoft Power Platform while leveraging Power BI for data visualization and analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement end-to-end solutions using Microsoft Power Apps, including canvas apps and model-driven apps tailored to specific business requirements
  • Create sophisticated, responsive interfaces for web and mobile applications with attention to user experience, performance optimization, and accessibility standards
  • Architect and implement complex data integration strategies connecting Power Apps with multiple data sources including SharePoint lists, Dataverse, SQL Server, Excel, and third-party APIs through custom connectors
  • Develop comprehensive Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations that transform raw data into actionable business insights using DAX, M language, and advanced data modeling techniques
  • Establish and maintain secure, efficient data connections between Power Apps solutions and Power BI reports, ensuring real-time data synchronization and appropriate access controls
  • Lead requirements gathering sessions with business stakeholders, translating business needs into technical specifications and providing multiple solution options with pros and cons
  • Build sophisticated automated workflows using Power Automate to streamline business processes, incorporating conditional logic, approvals, notifications, and error handling
  • Create detailed technical documentation including solution architecture diagrams, data models, process flows, and comprehensive user guides for end-users and administrators
  • Perform thorough debugging and troubleshooting across the Power Platform ecosystem, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable solutions
  • Proactively monitor and implement new Power Platform features and updates, evaluating their potential impact and recommending adoption strategies

Qualifications:

Required

  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and deploying solutions with Microsoft Power Apps, including both canvas and model-driven applications
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Power BI development, including creating complex reports, dashboards, and implementing data models using star schema design principles
  • Advanced knowledge of DAX formulas and measures for data calculations and analysis in Power BI
  • Experience with Power Query (M language) for data transformation and preparation
  • Proven expertise in Power Automate (Microsoft Flow) for creating multi-step approval workflows, scheduled processes, and automated notifications
  • Strong understanding of data connectivity options and experience integrating with various data sources including SQL Server, SharePoint, Excel, Dataverse, and external APIs
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing environment security, including sharing settings, role-based permissions, and data loss prevention policies
  • Experience implementing responsive design for applications that function across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues within the Power Platform ecosystem
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dataverse (formerly Common Data Service) structure, entity relationships, and customization
  • Experience with SharePoint Online list and library integration with Power Platform solutions
  • Strong SQL knowledge for data querying, joins, and manipulation
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States

Preferred

  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications (PL-100, PL-200, PL-300, or PL-400)
  • Experience with Dataverse custom entities, forms, business rules, and plugins
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for advanced component customization
  • Experience with Azure services integration, including Logic Apps, Functions, and API Management
  • SQL Server database design, optimization, and management experience
  • Background in business process analysis and workflow optimization
  • Experience implementing security and compliance requirements in enterprise environments
  • Knowledge of Power Virtual Agents for chatbot development

Work Location

This position requires onsite presence at client locations and/or our San Francisco office up to 2 days per week. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance of the San Francisco Bay Area. This position is hybrid (partial remote/partial onsite) and is not eligible for full remote work.

Compensation

As required by California law, the base salary range for this position in San Francisco is $95,000 to $145,000. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
