Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Prepress Technician to join our client’s team. This role is responsible for preparing digital files for printing, ensuring accuracy in layout, color correction, and image resolution while troubleshooting any issues before production. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for detail, excellent knowledge of prepress software, and experience working in a fast-paced printing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, proof, and adjust digital files for offset, digital, and large-format printing.
  • Perform preflight checks to ensure files meet printing specifications.
  • Convert and adjust file formats, colors, and layouts as needed.
  • Work with graphic designers, clients, and production teams to resolve file issues.
  • Operate and maintain prepress equipment, including platemaking and proofing devices.
  • Perform color management and ensure consistency across all print jobs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve file errors, imposition issues, and RIP (Raster Image Processor) concerns.
  • Maintain organized digital archives and ensure files are stored correctly.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Graphic Arts, Printing Technology, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a prepress or printing environment.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat) and other prepress software.
  • Strong understanding of print production processes, including offset, digital, and large-format printing.
  • Familiarity with color management and Pantone color matching systems.
  • Experience with RIP software and variable data printing is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
