Job Title: Process Safety Engineer – Process Hazard Analysis (PHA)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Process Safety Engineer – Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) to identify and evaluate the potential hazards and risk within the LNG facility. This role will be responsible for managing and facilitating PHA studies, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, and driving process safety initiatives by collaborating with operations teams to implement safety improvements across a facility. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in process safety and risk management, with expertise in hazard identification methodologies applicable to LNG operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and facilitate Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) studies, including HAZOP, HAZID, LOPA, and What-If analyses, ensuring thorough hazard identification and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate and manage PHA workflows, ensuring timely execution and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and safety teams to identify and address process safety risks throughout project lifecycles.
• Review and analyze PHA reports, providing recommendations for risk reduction and process improvement.
• Support the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies and safety initiatives within the LNG facility.
• Maintain PHA documentation and records, ensuring traceability and adherence to facility safety management programs.
• Conduct follow-ups on PHA action items, coordinating with project stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of identified hazards.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes to continuously enhance process safety performance.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or related field).
• 5-10 years of industry experience, with a focus on process safety and risk management in LNG, oil & gas, or petrochemical facilities.
• Extensive experience leading and facilitating PHA studies (HAZOP, LOPA, What-If, HAZID, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of process safety regulations, including OSHA PSM, NFPA 59A, API standards, and LNG facility safety guidelines.
• Ability to analyze risk assessment data and provide actionable recommendations for process safety improvements.
• Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills to coordinate PHA activities across multiple teams.
• Proficiency in PHA software tools such as PHA Pro, BowTieXP, or similar.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Process Hazard Analysis Leader (PHL) or equivalent process safety certification.
• Previous experience supporting LNG facility projects or similar high-hazard process industries.
