The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This role leads a team of production employees, coordinates workflow, monitors performance, and drives continuous improvement in productivity, quality, and safety. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong communication and problem-solving skills who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Supervise and coordinate day-to-day production activities to meet production schedules, quality standards, and safety goals.
Train, coach, and develop production team members to promote skill growth and teamwork.
Monitor production processes, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Ensure all employees comply with company safety policies and procedures; lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture.
Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as efficiency, scrap rates, and labor utilization.
Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and engineering teams to optimize equipment performance and product quality.
Manage staffing levels, employee scheduling, and performance evaluations.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma projects.
Maintain accurate records of production data, downtime, and material usage.
Support implementation of new processes, equipment, and training programs.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production tracking systems (ERP/MRP).
Ability to read and interpret production schedules, technical drawings, and work instructions.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the production floor for extended periods.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
Work may involve exposure to noise, temperature variations, and manufacturing equipment.
