A fast growing real estate investment firm that has been in business for over 20 years is currently seeking a Property Accountant.
PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT DUTIES:
• Enter monthly closing journal entries, including the investigation, verification of support and reconciliation of accounts.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements according to management agreement, leases, and lease amendments.
• Review general ledger for unusual variances, prepare reclassifications and make necessary journal entries to ensure financial statements are fairly stated prior to publication.
• Participate in the preparation of annual budgets and annual tenant expense reconciliations (CAM).
• Review fixed assets/capital accounts to ensure proper classification and depreciation/amortization.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experience
• Experience in property accounting highly preferred and/or public accounting experience.
• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance
• CPA highly preferred
• Experience with MRI is a plus
