Job Description

Aperture Therapeutics is advancing breakthrough therapeutics for age-related neurodegeneration, leveraging insights from human genetic diversity. We invite skilled scientists to join our mission-driven team to make a meaningful impact on patient lives.

As a member of our Neuroinflammation research group, the (Senior) Research Assistant will play a crucial role in the pre-clinical evaluation of innovative therapies using high-throughput assays. The ideal candidate will bring advanced technical expertise, a collaborative spirit, and a passion for translating science into therapies. We are committed to the ongoing professional growth of highly driven and independent scientists.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct studies using high-throughput liquid handling and automation to evaluate activity of novel drugs
  • Execute tissue processing for subsequent histopathological analysis and processing for biochemical assays
  • Perform a wide range of quantitative techniques, including ELISA, qRT-PCR, dPCR, RNA-seq, and IHC
  • Apply proficiency in data analysis and statistics to result interpretation and troubleshooting
  • Tissue culture experience is a plus
  • Maintain meticulous laboratory records and contribute to high standards of scientific rigor and data integrity
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional scientific teams, communicating results and contributing to research strategy

Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of three years’ hands-on experience in quantitative biochemical methods and assay automation
  • Advanced skill in tissue and cell sample processing and isolation of protein, RNA, DNA
  • Proficiency in data analysis and statistical analysis
  • Highly organized with exceptional critical thinking, troubleshooting, and communication abilities
