Position Summary:

The staff accountant will be responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, intercompany reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and supporting the accounting manager with daily and monthly accounting responsibilities including posting of recurring journal entries and account reconciliations. The role will include any ad-hoc projects, as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain accounts payable including maintenance of vendor master files, entering and coding vendor invoices, researching and resolving vendor inquiries and execution of annual 1099 reporting requirements

• Maintain accounts receivable including customer master files, application of customer payments and coding of customer deductions

• Preparation of journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations

• Work alongside the accounting manager to manage vendor aging and customer aging

• Assist with month-end close, including being able to work extended hours as needed

• Maintain accounts receivable aging and communicate aging issues with customers

• Reconcile select monthly balance sheet accounts (AR/AP/Cash)

• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned

• Complete ad-hoc and special projects to support the accounting department

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Experience with one or more relevant accounting systems – NetSuite preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required.

• Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and execute on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines

• High-energy level and a strong proactive work ethic

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and within a team environment.

• Self-motivated, eagerness to learn and willingness to take on new challenges.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Customer service oriented with the ability to interact with all levels of management.

Education/Experience:

2-3 years finance and accounting experience

Accounting or Finance degree is preferred

Public accounting experience is a plus, not required
